Dan Herbert is a Chicago-based trial attorney who has been recognized for his outstanding accomplishments in the courtroom by multiple distinguished organizations. Dan's professional career began as a police officer with the Chicago Police Department where he received numerous awards, including the Distinguished Service Award. He earned his law degree while working fulltime as a police officer by attending night school. After graduating law school, Dan worked as a prosecutor in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office where he served as lead attorney in over 100 trials in the Felony Trial Division. His courtroom record speaks for itself, having tried hundreds of cases to verdict as lead attorney. Dan's peers have also recognized him as a seasoned and highly accomplished trial advocate, previously selecting Dan as a Leading Lawyer, Super Lawyer, and National Trial Lawyers Top 100. He was also featured as a keynote speaker at the University of Illinois College of Law's Advocacy and Professionalism Symposium in 2025 where he presented on his experience going to trial on difficult cases.

Dan is a lifelong Chicagoan born and raised on Chicago's north side where he continues to live with his family. His unique background as a police officer, prosecutor, and union attorney drives his passion for representing victims of personal injury and workers' compensation.
